According to international museum standards, works
without frames and/or without surface protection must
be mounted onto a travel frame within a crate.Particularly
fragile works of art that are sensitive to vibrations
should also be packed according to these standards.
The travel frame (cf. fig. 1a) excludes all contact
between the surface of the work and the crate or internal
packing.
As far as possible the work is mounted onto the travel
frame with screws securing either the decorative frame,
or the chassis itself if no decorative frame is present
(cf. fig 1b).
