Exportation of household goods out of Switzerland
requests that the exporter takes following steps:
- Sign a Swiss Customs Export form 11.030 that many
be filled in by HARSCH Transports. This documents
has to be accompanied by a detailed list of items
(in French, German or Italian). Document available
at Harsch Transports.
Remark for international officers or diplomats
working with international organizations (UNO,
WHO, CERN etc. or Consulates, Embassies etc.):
the list of the household goods presented to Swiss
Customs at the time of importation is kept by
customs during five years. At time of exportation,
the list of the exported items is checked against
the list of importation. Every item which was
listed on import must be listed on export whereby
additional items may be exported. Swiss Customs
tax and duty are payable on items which were imported
but are not reexported during the five years period.
T herefore Swiss Customs usually does not check
whether the exporter has complied with them or
not.
- Announce his departure to the local town-hall
and/or the Office of the Inhabitant (“Bureau-Contrôle
de l’Habitant”).
- Obtain from Swiss Income Tax Service the receipt
of all unpaid taxes up to the date of departure.
- If the place of living is rented, obtain from
the landlord the authorization to leave (“Bon
de sortie”).
The above steps 2, 3 & 4 are not Swiss Customs
requirements, therefore Swiss Customs usually do not
check whether the exporter has complied with them
or not.
