picture relocation familyLeaving the country, moving or transferring can be an emotional shock not only for your employee, but also for their family. Our goal is to limit the stress of such an event for all concerned by providing a service of high value that will do everything possible to facilitate this transition. One and the same Harsch representative will work with the transferee during the whole process, while at the same time keeping close contact with the employer. From house-hunting to discussions about details of the inventory of fixtures at the house, through to looking for schools, a Relocation Consultant will answer all your questions, advise you and point you in the right direction.

Harsch Relocation covers the cantons of Geneva, Vaud, Fribourg, Neuchâtel, Zurich, Zug and Schaffhausen, as well as the border areas of France. In the remaining areas of Switzerland we work with partners we know, who have been chosen to reflect our quality standards.

Guidance and advice - day of orientation

Our personalised one day orientation programme providing guidance for new arrivals - “What will it be like” - is not only an in-depth look at the region. It is designed to provide your transferees and their families with a realistic and global picture of the region, which is an important first step in the relocation process.

We want them to feel at home, quickly.

An itinerary for the visit is carefully prepared, taking into account the family situation and the needs of the transferees.

Visits to see some houses and apartments will be organised during the day so that the transferee has a better understanding of the real estate situation in the region where they will be living.

Looking for accommodation

Everyone has different wants and needs. Our job is to undertake a complete and personalised search for a home, and we only show homes that best match the criteria that have been defined together with the transferee.

We also handle negotiations of the leasing agreement and the follow-up after signing the lease, including the bank guarantee and obligatory insurances. Organising the various services such as telephone, television, internet, water and electricity are all part of our job.

And of course, we are there to help the expatriate with the completion of the inventory of fixtures document necessary when formally taking possession of their residence.

Finding and visiting schools

An integral part of our services is to organize meetings with the directors and teachers of the selected schools, and we accompany the transferee and family for such meetings. We can also help your transferee in completing the necessary administrative procedures for schooling such as applications for registration. We guarantee to follow-up such applications until final confirmation of a place at the school has been received.

Settling in

The Settling-in Department was created to help families get going quickly and easily in their new environment - first steps are taken together with our dedicated Harsch Relocation representative.

The actual programme content is based on the employee's needs. For example, the "settling in" service can include help in administrative processes such as exchanging driving licenses, joining a sports club, looking for a paediatrician who speaks English, getting to know certain food shops, furniture shops or churches, meeting car dealers, etc. It is a real help for the transferee and his or her family to quickly feel at home in their new environment.

Helpline

Once settled in, your employees may have questions of an administrative nature, concerning banking matters, or they may just need information. They can avail themselves of our « help line ». We will assist them in finding solutions to their questions.

Your employee can choose assistance on the telephone, or if necessary one of our staff will visit him or her at home.

Other services

We can also help you with the following services:
  • Work permit applications
  • Residency permit applications
  • Searches for a temporary apartment
  • Intercultural training
  • "spouse Career Counselling"

Make this transfer a success by helping your employee become quickly accustomed to the culture of his or her new environment.
